ISE -  THE FUN STUFF…

People keep asking, ‘did you see anything interesting at ISE?’  Others overheard trying to answer the question seem to smile, scratch their heads a little and look equally lost for words. Of course there is the inspiring sight of such a confident and well-oiled market; incrementally continuing to deliver on its well-established business case. But that doesn’t really seem like such a fun answer.. So here’s my fun stuff instead..

Curvy Touch Screens:

Something that regularly comes up in experience centre design discussions - can we make a curved wall interactive… nice work from Exact !

Getting Immersive with Smell:

We’ve got audio, we’ve got visual and we’ve got touch. Well now we’ve also got smell. The ultimate immersive combination from ScentXP…

Making Interactivity Tactile:

Why use your finger, when you can use a shoe to drive your interactive applications? The object recognition tags from Interactive Scape can be attached to almost anything…

All Shapes and Sizes:

I can’t help but love the custom shape LCD market: skinny, round, long and wide… every shape in every way!  These battery powered round units run a whole day on a single charge…

…and Going Global:

Great to see Igloo’s new circular interactive globe. DVSI have deployed a few of these before and they really offer a new world of content possibilities…

…is it Goodbye to Black Screens?

Imagine if screens weren’t just black, how about white, or wood-like, or some other finish? Then they could really enhance your architecture and environment… Loved this pure white finish..

…but sometimes it’s what you don’t see:

Digital can’t always tell the whole story and embedding some physical in the middle can totally change the narrative and catch the eye…

And finally, something NEW!

One installation at the show that wasn’t burning thousands of KW of energy was this inspiring E-INK wall. Running totally without any power and showcasing the future of sustainable AV…
